A Throne of Cinders

Nine dragons are left in the world, and every one of them is a throne.

Lucan has spent his life on a mountain, stitching up what dragonlords do to each

other. He knows what the gift costs. He has buried its price. Then a dying rider is

carried up to the sanctum whispering a name Lucan has never heard: his own.

Dragged to the golden capital of an empire circling a dying empress's crown, the

son of an executed traitor becomes the piece every player wants — the Order, the

princes, the spymaster, the throne itself. There is one door out of the trap. It is

guarded by the only dragon no one has ever ridden and lived.

And far to the north, past the edge of the maps, something older than the empire

has begun to feed.

A Throne of Cinders opens the Draconate Saga: an epic fantasy of dragons, morally

gray houses, and a world that ended once before — for readers who like their

politics sharp, their dragons dangerous, and their heroes earned. Book One of ten.
