The Exile’s Blood

The king is dying.

The bloodline is hunted.

And the mountain is waking.

In a remote northern village, eighteen-year-old Aidan lives a quiet life with his father—a teacher of forbidden arts—and his mother. When soldiers come for his father, the truth of an ancient royal bloodline is revealed. Hunted across frozen forests and into the shadow of an ancient dragon, Aidan must decide how much of himself he is willing to burn to save what remains of his family—and what the mountain will demand in return.

Shadowfire is not a gift. It is a debt. Every use of the cold black-red flame exacts a price in memory, years, or pieces of the soul. As Aidan learns the true cost of the power in his blood, he is drawn into a deadly struggle for the throne, the awakening of the Ashen Wyrm, and a dangerous romance that may either save him or destroy him.

The Exile’s Blood is the first book in The Shadowfire Throne, a dark fantasy trilogy of forbidden magic, dragons, political intrigue, and the heavy price of power.
